Central London
Central London is where most visitors will spend their time (especially first timers or even second timers!). Interesting areas include
- The City of London which is the smallest county in England and bounded by dragons. It is home to one of the world's leading international finance centres. It has the iconic St. Paul's Cathedral, Fleet Street and the beautiful and historic Inn of Courts. If you are looking for some jewelry, gold or diamonds perhaps? Then Hatton Garden is the place to go.
- The City of Westminster is what many people regard as Central London It is North of the Thames and includes many of the major tourist sites such as Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. and of course the home of the Queen - Buckingham Palace. Here you will also find the big shopping streets such as Oxford Street, Regent Street, and Bond Street. There is also the nightlife of Soho. You must also not forget the lovely green spaces also found in Central London: Hyde Park, Regent Park and St. James Park.
- The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is to west of central London. Here you will find the wonderful museums like the Victoria and Albert Museum, The Science Museum There is also luxury shopping available at Harrods and the surrounding streets.
- Lambeth is to the south of the river Thames and is home to the Archbishop of Canterbury who lives at Lambeth Palace. The borough of Lambeth includes the very diverse areas of Brixton and Clapham with its famous common.
- Islington is to the North of the city centre. There are well to do residential districts here as well as Pentonville Prison
