London Parks and Open Spaces
London is a huge metropolis which has some wonderful green spaces in the heart of central London. Right in the centre of London you have the large Royal Parks
- St James Park
- Green Park
- Hyde Park
- Kensington Gardens
- Regent park
There are lots of garden squares and the Inns of Court which provide oases of peace in this very busy city.
A little further out of the centre there are other wonderful parks including: Holland Park, to the west of the centre which has a summer opera festival. Alexandra Park and Palace is to the north of the centre. Clapham Common is to the South of the centre, and Richmond Park is a huge area to the South West where Henry VIII used to go hunting and you can still see deer there today.
The largest botanic gardens in the world can be visited at Kew - truly wonderful and very different at different times of the year.
